I have a
brand new gig!
Other
than being wife (of 40 years), mother (2 daughters and a son), grandmother
(one darling granddaughter and one on the way), chief cook and bottle
washer, laundress, daughter of two sick, elderly parents, genealogist,
sometimes secretary for my attorney husband,
gardener, teacher and sometime adjunct history professor, freelance
writer, short story writer, karaoke singer, and webmaster for Southern-style.com
(this website), I have now become a published novelist.
Is that a hoot!?!
Chalet Publishers has chosen my book,
Partyin' on the Plantation, to publish! Needless to say, I am
excited about the new venture and hope you will enjoy my book and the ones
to come. Dabney, Sophie, Faye Lynne, Miss Ruby, Florence, Police
Chief Carrow Dee Hooper, Bernice, Estrellita, Julio and the rest of the
fictional Wakefield contingent will embark on many new
adventures/misadventures in the series of books ahead.
Life is wonderful in the boomer years when
there's time to pursue those interests that once had to be put on the back
burner. Each day could bring something new and exciting.
Wakefield: stories and cookbook is
in the works. Swimming with Serpents, an historical
romance set against the backdrop of the Creek War and the Massacre at For
Mims, molders at the moment on a publisher's desk. But stay tuned.
