Connelly

Rev. J.Z.S. Connelly was elected the first mayor of Dothan. He started off with the town when it was first incorporated, and began his official connection with the town, November 30, 1885. He didn't serve long as mayor; in fact he only served long enough to try one case. That was enough for him. He moved here in a881 and a year later he moved to Texas, where he resided until his death.
