BIO
Sharman Burson Ramsey is a novelist living in Dothan, Alabama and Panama City, Florida, with her husband, attorney Joel Ramsey and their standard poodle, Gracie. Ramsey's first novel, Swimming with Serpents, set against the backdrop of the Creek Indian War, is set for publication in September 2012 by Mercer University Press. The sequel, Nest of Vipers, set during the First Seminole War, will be released in September of 2013. She has a MS from Troy University in Dothan and a BS from the University of Alabama where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. Her roots grow deep in the Deep South. Her love of all things Southern led to the development of this website. Sharman Burson Ramsey holds a B.S.E. from the University of Alabama where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She received her M.S.E. from Troy University and was an Honors History graduate. She is a member of the Georgia, Alabama, Florida and Wilcox County, Alabama, Historical Societies. Ramsey has taught 7th through 12th grades in public and private schools and writing classes in community outreach programs, as well as having served as an adjunct history professor and a radio talk show host.
