I believe we are addressing two different Adams families. My John Adams died
in Fairfax Co 175 4, will book B. p 69-74 and mentions 3 sons: John Adams Jr;
Nipper Adams and Will ( William) A dams. I know that sons Nipper and John moved
to Halifax co., Va. I do not think Will moved there. Halifax Co. John Adams died
there in 1769 and was married to Elener Powell. I hope this clears up any

of Halifax Va on Rt 50 1 House on N side of St built 1715. Owners: John Adams Sr
1715, John Adams Jr 1769, James Adam s 1828, Richard E. Adams Sr 1885,Jessie
Adams 1896 to date.
Description This bldg stands to the rear of the main bldg. Built of logs and
covered with weatherboarding. 2 stone, very large chimneys at theends of the
bldg, one been removed, ....
Historical significance. This probably is the oldest ancestral home still used
by a direct descendant of the same name in Halifax Co. Built 1715 by John Adams,
Sr who emigrated here with hi s wagons from Fairfax Co...Indians..highly educated
and "school master" by profession
(his people are supposed to have emigrated from Massachusetts) John Adams Sr
remained with wagons loaded for 6 wks in fear of attack. (Oct 1766:sons William, John-copy ends here
John Adams Jr's children taken from the will of Mar 20, 1769 Halifax Va (by
the researcher who put the wpa information in the file) are Joshua, Elizabeth,
William, Mary, Martha, (who married Thos Dickson-Halifax 20 Dec1771) John (who
md Jane Hurt) and George.
His wife is Elener Powell and his parents are John Adams and Elizabeth Miller
